Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying, storing, and investing in gold with Liquid Asset Group.
Is gold a good investment?
Gold has been one of the best-performing assets of the 21st century, with an average annual return of over 13% in GBP over the past 20 years. It is a tangible asset that sits outside the banking system, carries no counterparty risk, and has consistently outperformed cash savings, ISAs, and many traditional investments over the long term.
Is gold VAT free?
Yes. All investment-grade gold bars and coins (22k or 24k) are exempt from VAT. This applies to every product supplied by Liquid Asset Group.
Are gold coins Capital Gains Tax free?
UK gold coins with legal tender status — such as Britannias and Sovereigns — are exempt from Capital Gains Tax. This means you pay no tax on any profit you make when you sell.
How do I store my gold?
You have two options. You can take fully insured delivery to your home or business premises, or you can store your gold in our LBMA-approved, fully insured vault facility. Many clients choose vault storage for the added security and convenience.
Can I add gold to my pension?
Yes. Physical gold can be held within a SIPP (Self-Invested Personal Pension) or a SSAS (Small Self-Administered Scheme) pension. Both offer significant tax advantages and a powerful way to protect your retirement savings.
What is a PCGS-graded coin?
A PCGS-graded coin has been independently authenticated and scored on a 1–70 quality scale by the Professional Coin Grading Service, the world’s leading coin grading authority. Graded coins are sealed in tamper-proof cases, carry a guaranteed grade, and typically appreciate faster than ungraded coins.
Can I sell my gold back?
Yes. We offer a straightforward Buy Back Policy. When you’re ready to sell, we’ll provide a no-obligation appraisal and quote. Once agreed, your account is credited promptly.
What is the minimum investment?
We can accommodate a range of investment levels. Speak with our team to discuss the right entry point for your goals and budget.
